Terms of payment

All prices on our website are listed in Icelandic króna (ISK). You can book and pay for your tour online, pay at our reception before the tour starts or book through one of our travel sales partners. If any problems are encountered while booking, please send an email to [email protected]. It is recommended that guests arrive and check-in at the reception at least 10 minutes before the tour is scheduled.

The Caves of Hella reserves the right to change prices already quoted or published on our website and in our price lists subject to extreme currency fluctuation and conditions that are outside The Caves of Hella control.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing by email to [email protected]. Reservations for our daily scheduled tours can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the tour starts. Cancellations received less than 24 hours before departure, and no-shows, will be charged the full price. For private tours, the full price will be charged for cancellations made less than 48-hour before departure. For Luxury tours or other tours that include food, full price will be charged for cancellations made less than 72-hour before departure.. For private or special events, the cancellation terms may vary and can be negotiated depending on the circumstances. 

The Caves of Hella reserves the right to alter tours and itineraries due to weather or road conditions. All programs can be changed or cancelled at any moment during the trip to assure the safety of the clients and staff of the Caves of Hella. If Caves of Hella cancel your tour, you can either choose a new timing or get a full refund.

If you are unable to participate in a booked tour due to road closures, impassable road conditions, or other circumstances beyond your control that make it impossible to reach Hella, please contact us by email at [email protected] or by phone at +354 620 6100.

Accessibility and Clothing

Please be prepared for a short and easy walk between the caves and dress appropriately for the weather.Please note that the caves are not wheelchair accessible. Guests should be able to comfortably walk up and down a few stairs and walk on somewhat uneven surfaces.

Liability and insurance. Force Majeure.

The Caves of Hella disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accidents, sickness or changes in schedule caused by Force Majeure event, such as but not limited to weather, strikes, natural disasters, or any other irregularity outside the company’s control and for expenses due to any of these reasons.
The Caves of Hella disclaims responsibility for any guest valuables that might get lost or damaged during the visit. All such losses and expenses are the personal liability of the guest.
We advise all our customers to have valid travel insurance. This insurance should be obtainable in your country of residence.

Personal information

Caves of Hella may collect and store personal information about you only when you voluntarily provide it to us. We may keep records of communications (e.g. chats, messages, emails, etc.) and other activities, including but not limited to contact form submissions, current and past bookings, searches, and requests. This information may be used to improve our services, for training purposes, and/or to help prevent fraud or other unlawful activities. Payments are processed by an external payment provider. Caves of Hella does not collect or store payment information such as credit card details.​Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Icelandic law. If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity, legality, or enforceability of the remaining provisions. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the District Court of Reykjavík.
