UNVEILING ICELAND'S ANCIENT SECRETS
Ancient man-made caves have been discovered across the South of Iceland, and the caves at Ægissíða, by Hella are among the most remarkable. The site is considered one of Iceland´s oldest surviving archaeological sites, although the exact age and origins of the caves remain uncertain. Some theories suggest that they may even predate the Norse settlement of Iceland. This historical site has been looked after by the same family for five generations. In recent years, the family has opened the site to visitors, giving guests the opportunity to explore three of the caves and peer into two others on a guided tour.
